About Us

Introduction

Ratna Kumar Bantawa Polytechnic Institute (RKBPI) was established in 2074 BS by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) as a model polytechnic institute in Ilam Municipality-1, Sakhejung. Our institution is dedicated to producing a highly skilled and competent workforce to meet the growing demands of Nepal’s agriculture, forestry, health services, and construction sectors.

Regular Academic Programs

RKBPI offers a range of regular diploma programs designed to provide long-term technical expertise. Our academic journey includes:

2074 BS: Launched the three-year Diploma in Agriculture (Animal Science).

2075 BS: Introduced the three-year Diploma in Agriculture (Plant Science).

2076 BS: Expanded into environmental studies with the Diploma in Forestry.

2077 BS: Launched the Diploma in Pharmacy and Diploma in Civil Engineering as regular programs, which continue to run successfully today.

2079 BS: Introduced the Pre-Diploma in Tea Technology, catering to the specific needs of the tea-rich Ilam region.

Special Scholarship & Targeted Programs

In addition to our regular curriculum, RKBPI actively conducts Special Scholarship Batches to support targeted technical education:

Diploma in Pharmacy (Special): Successfully completed the 2078 BS Special Batch.

Diploma in Civil Engineering (Special): Currently running the 2080 BS Special Batch.

Diploma in General Medicine (Special): Exclusively run as a special program, currently successfully operating two active batches (2081 BS and 2082 BS).
